Hello Everyone,

We all want to know, does Winsor Pilates work?

Started doing Winsor pilates recently( 2 weeks ago) and got hooked after seeing some definition in my abs.

After giving birth to my baby 11 months ago my body is in bad shape (no shape at all. Big saggy tummy, J.lo** size two big soft  dented watermelons, AND thunder thighs).

Started working out in local GYM 6 times a week on 1-March-2006. I do 45 minutes cadio/resistance training and 20 minutes weight lifting every other day. In conjuction with the above schedule i've controlled my diet. I consume 1500 cals a day. Less fat and no sugar.

My SW was 95.2 Kgs. SO far i have lost 12.2 kgs (27 lbs) in three months. My goal is to weigh 68 kgs. But the above weight loss and weight training did n't help in shrinking my tummy so i have given a thought of adding pilates in my routine.

Started Winsor pilates on 21 MAY 2006 and so far i have done 8 sessions. I can feel the difference in my abs.

To test the water, i will do Winsor pilates (accelerated) 5 times a week till 30th June 2006. I have taken measurement of all the areas where i want to lose. I'm making them public so that we all can see the progress.

Belly Button : 39.5"

2" below belly button : 42"

Hips = 45"

Thighs = 26.75"

Since doing weight training,I don't pay much attention to my weight. I assess my progress with inch loss and the way i fit into my clothes. Just now i find USA size 12 tight and comfortable in UK size 16.

I'll keep you all updated with my inch loss (if any with Winsor pilates). And def i would be able to answer DOES WINSOR PILATES WORK?

Keep working.

Raina.

==============

**Don't take me wrong . i'm big fan of J.Lo's and the way she carries her big booties. I admire her hard work to keep them in shape.

that's cool! I had my daughter 2 1/2 years ago and I'm tired of how I look now, so I've decided that I'm going to start my windsor pilates... again. I've also started to watch my calorie intake, but unfortunately I haven't done any exercise, but I have lost 10 pounds, by watching calories and drinking TONS of water! I want to work on my abs, so if it's working for you- I'm going to try!

Week 1 update,

Did accelerated pilates for 6 days. (Yes no other exercise. i was down with flu. Diet was fair. cheated once- had two scoops of ice cream topped with chocolate sauce and nuts.)

My measurements as of 12th June :-

Belly Button : 39.5"   (no change)

2" below belly button : 42"  (no change)

Hips = 44.5" (- 0.5")

Thighs = 26.25" (-0.5" each thigh)

Weight = 82.5 kgs (-0.5 kg)

SUrprised. Measuring tape didn't show any improvement in lower abdomen. ( Pilates is meant for abdominal muscles).Though the above inch loss is great BUT I'm desperate to lose some inches off my tummy. I'm going to work hard.

Exercise plan for June 12 to june 19 :

45 minutes cardio everyday. 20 minutes weight training everyday (alternating upper and lower body).

Winsor accelerated pilates. EVERYDAY.

will get back to you all on 19th June with my progress.

Raina

Hello mdiaz672,

keep working. I'm sure we can get our bodies back. Sometimes its difficult to get time to exercise with Baby, job, home. But i'm giving it priorty over cooking, cleaning etc etc.

I'll keep you posted with my progress. Lets become inspiration for others.

SHYGEMINI: Thanks for your confidence in pilates. It did help. I was supposed to do five sessions last week but ended up doing six sessions.

Raina

Hi Cindy
I started pilates this summer. I also got frustrated that I did not loose weight. Recently I have been doing the weight watcher's point system along with the pilates and just lost4 pounds in 2 weeks!    I believe that is the key ...pilatesa with watching that oneeatsthe right foods in small portions.
