Whey protein is an excellent protein choice for individuals of all ages who value the role of a healthy diet in helping to maintain and improve their health Whey protein isolate, the purest form available, is unsurpassed as a source of the essential amino acids required in the daily diet. Essential amino acids are the building blocks for healthy muscles, skin, nails and other body tissue.

Whey protein helps athletes maintain a healthy immune system by increasing the levels of glutathione in the body.

Whey protein contains many of the same components found in human breast milk and for this reason, is a key ingredient in a wide variety of infant formulas, including those for premature infants

There are two most important things to remember for maintaining healthy diet:

1. Eat less fat: By cutting down on fatty foods, you will reduce your risk of heart disease, cancer, stroke, high blood pressure, and obesity.

2. Eat  more fibre: A high fiber diet helps lower your cholesterol level and helps prevent constipation and intestinal problems. It may also reduce the risk of colon cancer.

However, it is okay to indulge in having fries, cookies, ice cream etc once in a while. Otherwise we would feel deprived all the time.  "Moderation" is the key.

Here is something for fun:

Another way to maintain a healthy weight during all the holiday temptations is to make recipe substitutes or modifications. These can include things like serving vegetables instead of a casserole with extra calories and fat, serving fruit salads instead of pies and cakes, and taking the skin off of turkey or chicken dishes.

As well as Whey protein, many scientists, Dr David Heber for example, are recommending Soy protein as a very nutritional means of weight management. Like Whey, Soy protein is rich with the amino acids mentioned by the original poster.

Just a note, I'm not saying Whey or Soy are better than one another, just adding some extra reading for anyone interested :)

I've been taking supplements consisting of Soy Protein for around 6 months and although I can only speak for myself, I love my body condition now.

Hi there!!!

My thoughts about maintaining a diet.... i would say exercise. I went into a diet about 6 months ago and did moderate exercise. 2 to 3 times a week. (walking two miles daily) and i saw results right after a month. But the key is that you do not have to stick to a strict diet if you keep doing exercise constantly. Remember exercise helps you burn calories and improve your metabolism. Just eat small portions and exercise, exercise and move that body!!!      Only you can take control of your health!!!!

Good Luck and do not give up.
