DAY 1, NOV. 28, 2009

today was not a good day.so not good.i let my usual eating habits get the best of me,i will have to post because it starts here.being honest with myself of what i eat.

bfast:

Salmon sour soup w/ green vegetables and 1 1/2 cup of white rice

lunch:

1 cucumber sliced

2 tangerines

homemade chicken sandwiches w/ mayo on 3 pieces of hawaiian sweet roll.(king's hawaiian brand)

1 piece of toblerone chocolate

dinner:

1 dragon roll (sushi w/ shrimp tempura, eel, and avocado),5 pieces

3 oyster tempura

5 pcs of calamari tempura (tentacles)

when i got home, i had 1 tangerine.

i drink water thoughout the day.

WILL MAKE BETTER FOOD CHOICES TOMORROW.

bfast @ 0800:

1 bowl of honey bunches of oats cereal

snack @ 1000: 2 hard boiled eggs

lunch @ 1300: 1 1/2 cups of rice w/ 2 crab legs cooked in coconut milk

snack @ 1600: 3 cups of popcorn from target store

dinner @ 1800: 1/2 can chunk light tuna w/ mayo n 2 packages of skyflakes brand crackers.

thought i was done there.then at  2000, gave into temptation n had 1/2 cup fried rice and 1 cup of noodles @ chinese restaurant with mom.

2100: 1 tangerine

that concludes my food intake for today.bought a new scale at target,had to return the one i bought a few days earlier as the dial was giving me inaccurate readings.

temptation is not a good thing.mission continues.

i always look forward to lunch.

bfast:

0800-1 persimmon

1230-1 small bowl of mung bean soup w/ bittermelon and shrimp.

            1 small bowl of fried smelt

            1 pork bbq stick

            1 1/2 cups of white rice

1400-1 tangerine

1630-2 dinner rolls w/ four slices of turkey and 1 tangerine

2130-1 tangerine and 4 slices of fried eggplant

i ate dinner early this evening because i have class from 1800-2100.today i had to leave for class an hour early for study group.when i got back home,i was hungry.that's why i have the 2130 entry.i try not to eat anything after dinner cuz if i do, then the cycle continues of late night snacking on empty calorie type foods.i gotta break the cycle and stay on track.i am on a mission.

bfast @ 0930:  2 scrambled eggs,3 sausage links,2 slices of sourdough bread

1100:  about a handful of jelly belly jelly beans

1530:  3 pcs. of KFC grilled chicken,1/2 bag of pacifica supreme salad

1700:  2 tangerines

2100:  1 tangerine

late entry for last night.we took our daughter on a tour at the jelly belly factory.fun.fun.fun.especially the taste testing of the off the wall flavors,like skunk,booger,canned dog food...hahaha!their new flavor,chili mango-a must try.spicy, but oh so goody.didnt have my usual bowl of cereal this am and instead had a heavy bfast,skipped lunch and just had dinner.no rice for me today.BIG PLUS!

1430: turkey sandwich on whole wheat w/ small 1 oz bag of chips and one pickle

1700: 1 tangerine

2100: 1 bowl of hot n sour soup and 1 tangerine

school night once again that's why the 2100 entry.was hungry when i got home.the break between 1430 to 2100 with only a tangerine in between is probably what kept me wanting to eat more.maybe i will bring some crackers as a snack to munch on during our short 10 minute break on my next class and see how that goes for me.

1330: 1 bowl of chocolate meat and 1 1/2 cups of white rice

1830: 1 turkey sandwich on whole wheat, 1 pickle, 1 oz. bag of cheetos

costco samples!yum!i sampled some gourmet popcorn,clam chowder,pork buns,hot links,sweet sausage,sushi,lumpia(eggroll), and cheese.delish!the only thing i needed was a sample to wash  everything i ate down.hahaha!today was another cold day.take care!

bfast @ 0800: 2 tangerines

lunch @ 1100: 2 small bowls of noodles

snack @ 1400: 4 chocolate cookies

dinner @ 1730: 3 baked oysters on half shell w/ spinach on top,2 bowls of soup w/ beef and tripe,3 bites of baked salmon,strawberries and mango slices.

Went to a my uncle's birthday party and the food was DELISH!need i say more?oysters!salmon!oh my!though my tummy said feed me,my mind said stop.i ate to where i was comfortably full.usually i would eat til i was so full that i felt i could throw up.i went overboard on the noodles for lunch today.i could've had 1 bowl, but i didn't. :(

tomorrow is another day.instead of the 4 cookies,maybe i can substitute it with a fruit.weigh in is on the 7th.positive thoughts.

lunch @ 1100: $3.00 mini meal at mcd's (chicken sandwich, small fries, and small drink)

dinner @ 1630: 2 slices of bread, 2 slices of bacon, 3 scrambled eggs, 1 hashbrown

snack @ 1730: 2 handfuls of fruit loops

snack @ 1900: 1 tangerine

i skipped breakfast altogether this morning and had lunch at mcd's.chicken sandwich alone was 360 calories.ouch! dinner was yum.yum.yum.tomorrow is weigh in day.let's see where i stand.i feel like im falling off track.eating fries twice this week.big no no.need to make healthier choices.

snack @ 1430: 6 wetzel pretzel bites

dinner @ 1900: 1 bowl of pho w/ beef balls,tripe, and steak slices (vietnamese noodle soup)

2000: 3 pcs. of hershey's cookies and creme candy bar

need to go back to my cereal in the am.dark chocolate much healthier,maybe i should give it a try.

1430: 1/2 small fries @ mcd's.  (1 small fry = 230 cals)

dinner @ 1700: 1 fried tilapia w/ 1 1/2 cups of white rice. 1 hard boiled egg.

gosh darn.there goes them fries again.the upside,i only ate half of the order.tonight was a school night and i ate quite heavy w/ the rice.got home from school and was not feeling hungry at all.usuallyafter class i'll have something to eat to satisfy that rumbling in my tummy.

snack @ 1430: 3 chocolate cookies and a handful of shrimp chips

dinner @ 1700:  shrimp cooked w/ squash, bittermelon, eggplant, and chinese long beans and 1 cup of rice.

snack @ 1800:  1 tangerine

late entry for yesterday.slept early last night and was not able to post.lunch n dinner was delish!you can never go wrong w/ shrimp.yummy in my tummy.

crackers were my thing this evening.hot tea warmed me up. 0 calories & no caffeine.had a heavy lunch and so i was still full before leaving for school.had crackers instead of a dinner.

didnt have dinner.was still full from lunch.

hot and sour soup was a delightful dinner though it was late that i ate.its been so cold here lately.was raining off and on throughout the day and so i finally got my lazy butt up and out to get something warm to fill my tummy.despite the cold and the rain, i still love winter time.good night all.

dinner @ 1700: 1 slice of whole wheat bread w/ peanut butter spread on top, 1/2 bag of 1 oz doritos, 2 hersheys chocolate nuggets, handful of grapes.

tomorrow is weigh in day.lunch was oh so yummy.got the recipe from my best friend.i baked the tilapia in the oven and seasoned it w/ seafood soy sauce, chopped garlic and ginger (very healthy), and sesame oil.the broccoli on the side was a great side dish to the meal.green is great.see u in the am for weigh in.

lunch @ 1600: 3 pcs of fried eggroll and half cup of garlic fried rice

dinner @ 1900: 2 bowls of chicken noodle (vermicelli) soup, 1 slice of lady fingers cake.

made breakfast this morning for my mom, my daughter, and myself.it was a heavy breakfast and oh so good. went window shopping and bonded with my daughter mia.afterwards we went to my auntie's surprise birthday party.food were party platters from panda express...oooh, the orange chicken, the fried rice, the chow mein, and all the other food choices.oh gosh, i stood hovering over the food salivating.so tempting but i decided to have soup instead.upside, i did have a slice of cake.

bfast @ 0900: 2 eggs sunny side up, 1 slice of whole wheat toast

lunch @ 1200: 1 chicken sandwich from Mcd's

dinner @ 1700: 2 cups of noodles (pancit)

dinner @ 1900: 1 bowl of meatball soup with cabbage and potatoes

snack @ 2030: half a 3 musketeers candy bar (260 cals)

calories again from that chicken sandwich was 360! i just ate the chicken patty and trashed the bun, dunno if that really helped cuz after all it was a fried chicken patty.oh my. then i had two dinners.i wouldnt even call the bowl of soup a snack cuz it was a full meal in itself. ay ya yay! what was i doin?and i wasn't finished there, just had to have the candy bar. today was definately not a good day for me. i was doin too much.tomorrow is another day.better choices.better choices.

1830:  1/2 glazed donut

ahhh!!! i know. i know. wat a menu! its gotta  get better.today just wasnt my day, at all.

lunch @ 1130:  half serving of fried calamari, 1 wedge salad w/ bleu cheese, 1 mini pepperoni n mushroom pizza.

1430: 1 scoop of chocolate malted crunch ice cream on a cone

1930: 1 cup hot tea and 3 crackers

the past two days of meals were unhealthy and today was no better. 

today was bonding day with mia n my guy  & we ate out for lunch.the meal i chose, the salad n pizza were under 670 calories according to the menu. the fried calamari, well i didnt even wanna look. i shared that with my guy but i know i couldve wiped that plate clean.

new day tomorrow.im on a mission.

1500:  4 pcs of naan bread, 1/2 cup of basmati rice, 3 tandoori prawns, and 1/2 cup coconut curry chicken

2030:  5 pcs of dragon roll sushi.

poor meal planning.skipped breakfast and ate 1 too many times of heavy meals. my brother and his friend invited me to eat out at this delicious indian restaurant and i found it hard to turn down free food.hahaha.sushi is one of my favorites.another hard thing to turn down.poor decisions on my part and i hate to see what the scale reads if i don't get back on track.  i have a meal plan set for tomorrow already and i WILL stick to it. end of semester! yay!  Merry Christmas friends!

lunch @ 1330:  1 bowl of rice soup w/ chicken drumstick

dinner @ 1730:  1/2 cup of rice and beef steak w/ onions

dessert @ 2000:  1 slice of purple yam cake

my brother and his friend invited me to a christmas party at their friend's place and of course i went.  lots of food. very good food. only thing i had there was dessert. did well i thought.

wat was i thinking eating 2 slices of pizza so close after eating lunch?my gosh.tomorrow is weigh in day.if i gain, i know why.

Wow, mommynmia, you really do count every calorie you eat. I hear a lot about maintaining a food journal but to this day I have never had the chance to get around to it. Here is what my diet looks like on a regular day (I do go over once in a while)

Breakfast: 1 cup yogurt (100 calories), I packet of fish crackers (100 calories)

Lunch: A cup of rice (100 calories), some chicken, vegetables, some fruits (not sure what that amounts to but I am assuming, close to 500 calories)

Dinner: A cup of rice or pasta, either fish or chicken (probably around 500 calories)

On some days I have a little snack after dinner or a small slice of cake. I hate feeling deprived, so I have these sweet treats in moderation.

Brunch @ 1030:  squid cooked in soy sauce and vinegar (adobo style) and 1 1/2 cups of rice

1330:  1 cup jasmine hot tea and 1 slice banana bread

dinner @ 1830: 1 cup rice, 1 korean short rib, 5 pcs of fried shrimp, bokchoy & mushrooms, and 1 fried eggroll. for dessert, a couple of bites of mango ice cream and one fried banana.

late entry for yesterday evening. went to the casino resort  for a much needed rest and relaxation and stayed over the night. had a couple of beers that i didnt include in my meal, i can only imagine how many calories a bottle has.yikes! had fun, didn't really gamble, just hung out w/ my guy. very nice.  :)

hi foodlover! how is going? u ready for christmas and the new year? wouldnt it be great to go into the new year a few pounds lighter?

i started this food diary journal as a way for me to see what i ACTUALLY eat and HOW MUCH i consume. so that way i know exactly why i gained what i did and what i can do different about my diet to keep on track. i always make it a point to post every evening before i go to bed or if i can't get to it, i do it the first chance i get. i am honest with what i write because if not, im only lying to myself.

your meal plan sounds great! i enjoy eating rice with my fish and chicken. veggies are always a big plus. my meals are asian centered and so calorie counting is quite difficult cuz its not a typical meal you would find at a restaurant down the street if you know what i mean.

continue to eat healthy and keep me updated with how u are doing!

lunch @ 1130: chicken bake

1630: 1 cup of jasmine hot tea

dinner @ 1830: 2 cans of sardines (120 cals. total) and 1 1/2 cup of rice

skipped breakfast this am and went straight to lunch. made good meal choices today. will see on weigh in day how good of job i have been doing this past week. good night all and see you again tomorrow evening for my nightly post. 3 more days till christmas!!!

Hi mommynmia, sure it would be nice to start off the new year a few pounds lighter. I have been good so far, not sure about Christmas dinner though . I skipped breakfast today, will have lunch around noon. My meals are Asian too and I love Asian food. One thing though, I don't weigh myself everyday, I weigh myself every week or so. On a given day I can go up and down and I get confused, so I stick to measuring myself only once a week.

I am going out to lunch with a friend, planning to have falafel sandwich, not sure about the number of calories in it. But since I skipped breakfast, I think I will be fine. I have grown tired of counting calories.

You are doing great, keep it up.

bfast @ 0800: 1 cup jasmine tea and 1 slice of banana bread

lunch @ 1130: 3 crab legs cooked in coconut milk and 1 1/2 cups of rice

1400: 1 cup of popcorn

1730:  1 cup of jasmine tea and 1 slice of banana bread

1900: 1 tangerine and 1 cup of popcorn

tomorrow is xmas eve! yay! im preparing baked ham and pancit palabok (vermicelli noodles topped w/ shrimp sauce, crushed pork rinds, green onions, ground beef, tofu, garlic flakes, n shrimp). did things light today so i can eat good for the next two days.

1700: 3 slices of ham, 1 1/2 cups of pancit palabok (noodles-see above post for ingredients)

1800: 1 green chile enchilada

2100: 1 green chile enchilada

2300: 3 small candy chocolate crunch bars

1200: 1 cup rice noodles with shrimp gravy

1500: 3 chocolate candy crunch bars and 2 tangerines

1800:  1 enchilada

2200: 1 dinner roll with a slice of ham

late entry for yesterday. couldve made a few changes to my diet especially dat 2200 entry. leftover food equals good food.
