hi everyone, first time poster here. i've come looking for your support as losing weight is something that i've found very difficult to do and keep up with. i've peaked as high as 200 lbs, and this was early in high school, but now am down to about 170. i'm about 5 and a half feet, and know that i still have a few pounds to go before i get to what i want to get down to.

i feel like i do have the determination somewhere inside of me, but i've basically been stuck at this weight forever! ive bounced between my peak and 160 these past few years, but it's not that i really eat unhealthy things, it's more that i get discouraged when i don't see the change from all my efforts. i really believe i plateau at 160 and can't get any lower, so i just stop and gain all the weight back.

i'm currently in medical school now, and i think i should learn to practice what i preach, but how can i with the time commitments i have. i need some better habits, and need to revamp some realistic goals for myself and want to hear all about some of your success stories and how you have made things work for yourself. i feel that despite all the knowledge i have, it's difficult for me to apply what i know and not see results. any support would be much appreciated!

Well hello there. I am also a newcomer here and understand your desire for support!  I know things are always easier said than done when it comes to doing it yourself. Its always easier to tell someone else to do things than to do them yourself.   The simple fact that you even posted on this board lets me know you have the desire to do what you need to do to lose those pounds.   Below is a helpful link I found on the infamous plateau

Hope it helps. Good luck and keep me posted!

Hi,

If you like juices, you may want to include juicing in your diet plan.  It's a natural way to lose those extra pounds without compromising the important nutrients the body needs to function properly.

Goodluck!

Cheers,

The best way to get over a plateau is to change your workout. Your body is probably used to your old workout and has adapted to it that's why you're no longer losing weight. But if you shake things up a bit, your body will respond accordingly. Also, you don't need to exercise for long hours, just increase your intensity. That will produce the result that you want.
