Yes, I have a large glass!!!  It takes approx 250/300 ml.  So thats about.  Actually you are right. Theres 87 cals in a every 120 ml. I have calculated it wrong!!!!  So its about 200 cals per glass not 300, GOD I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER NOW!!!!  You have made my day.  Say that mind I am not telling what I had to eat yesterday 'cos I didn't do very well, my friend came round and I cooked.  I shall start again today............................

oh please please please dont give up.a food diary might even help you to improve your diet!I use to think just because i went out to dinner or had roast i had an excuse to eat big or i use to think if my hubby ate pizza ive got to have it as well but now when i cook for him and my daughter , i sometimes have the same and sometimes dont,it depends on what he has!I eat smaller portions more regularly.Whats harder is that im on the south beach diet so seeing him eat all the food that i cant, really is a challenge for me.got 1 more day left on phase 1!and hey dont be too hard on your self so what you had a naughty weekendjust try and make the next week better and drink lots of water and exercise and you will get there.plus if you exercise on a regular basis,then you can allow yourself to let go from time to time.as long as you are happy.

Okay, after reading this I do have a confession.

I went to Gardaland this past weekend.  It's an amusment park in Italy.  I ate a pizza, I drank a coke for lunch.  That night while driving back home, we stopped at an AutoGrille, and I ate a burger.

My point is, I was aware of what I was doing and I knew that I was going to pay for it the next day.  I was afraid to even get on the scale, I didn't even post it in my food diary, but you know during the weekend I lost 2 pounds.

The Beach diet really helped my metabolism.  I won't be doing this every weekend, but on occasion, I feel that I can do what I want, and work extra hard in the gym the next day.  That is the good thing about adding excercise to your diet program.

Hi

Thanks guys you have made me feel better

Tuesday:

Breakfast: 1 packet of quaker spudz = 133 cals, 1 mug of tea: 25 cals, 2 large glasses of water with my evening primrose and cod liver oil with vitamins tablet which I have every morn.

snack: 2 quacker cheesy snack a jacks= 76 cals.  I am also drinking more water now.  No more tea and coffee at work!! I bought in one of those large star wars plastic cups, (my sons!!) and I use that.  It holds loads!!!  I am certainly going to the toilet more often!!!!  Anyway................

Lunch: 4 cheesy snack a jacks= 152 cals

snack: 2 cheesy snack a jacks = 76 cals with 2 slices of ham = 26 cals

Went out for drinks with sister, no dinner but 3 glasses of dry white wine= 500 cals...............

Came back and my hubby and son had left me some chinese, not much but I was hungry so I had that.  Don't know the calories but I would guess at 400 cals.

Exercise: running up and down the stairs 50 times, but not all in one go!!! Every fifteen mins did 10.

Total calorie intake:  approx: 1388/1400 cals  Not bad but still not good.  I know you guys think that my 1000 cals a day is low but I am still convinced thats the best way to do it.  I just wish I could stick to it.  Guess what I am going out tonight aswell!!!  I'll let you know how I got on

Have just realised that I am bloated today, for some reason.  So far I have drunk 5 very large glasses of water.  Why do you think that is?

Hi

They are made by Quacker and are made from rice & corn.  They come in different flavours, sour cream and chive, cheese, caramel and you can either buy them in crisp size bags or in cakes.  1  10g cracker or cake contains the following:

Cals = 38

carb= 8.2g

fat= .3g

fibre= 0.2g

sodium= 0.1g

I have tried downloading a picture but I can't do it.

Try going to this site

More on the snack o jacks.........i never knew what the were either and i was just thinking maybe if you had a nice bit of lean meat with some green veggies or if you are at work,and its hard to have cooked food hows about some fruit and a nice healthy sandwich on oat bread or whole grain high in fibre brown bread?!Then it wouldnt get boring and it would be better all round and hey you can always bubg in the odd snack o jack thats if you arent sick of them!salx

The amount of carbs in these snack o jacks seem to be quit high especially if you have 4 of them 3 times aday!!Unless you are very active,then you will burn it off.But like you say it can get a bit boring.Just a thought. sal

Hi Sal

You've changed your sign!!!  I like it.   Yes you are right the snack o jacks are boring so i've knocked them on the head now.  Yesterday was the last ones.  And yes they are high in carb aswell.  Yeah when I get my periods, yuk, I get really bloated but also I think the snack o jacks were having a bad effect on me.  I was eating so many of them!!!  No more now.  I am introducing low fat yoghurt and pears into the diet and i will be alternating from salad one day to weight watchers meal the other day.  We'll see how it goes.

Tuesday 8th June

Cup of tea this morning.  Large glass of water.

So far today I've had one cracker, not feeling hungry.  35 cals

2 large glasses of water.

Tonight might be going to a BBQ, thats only if hubby has got over his hang over from last night when he went out.  Serves him right!!!!!

If we don't go I shall have a weight watchers meal - 350 cals.  I think I will have the chicken with pasta, yummy.

I shall probably have a glass of wine, yeah!! 240 cals

30 minutes on the gravity walker.  I HATE EXERCISE!!!!

Wednesdy 9th June

Breakfast:  cup of tea and 1 small bag of twiglets = 126 cals

Snack: low fat  lemon flavoured greek style yoghurt & coffee = 175 cals

Lunch: 4 finn style crackers with 2 slices of thin ham = 106 cals

Snack: pear = cals 50?

Dinner: Tuna salad as on Monday = 250 cals

2 glasses of dry white wine = 500 cals

Exercise: 30 mins on the gravity walker plus watering the garden with my watering cans as hubby has not yet fixed hose pipe, but good exercise.  Last time I did this it took 45 mins up and down, up and down!!!!

Total cals = 1208 cals less the exercise cals which is about 250 or so.

Not bad!!!!

I doubt 2 glasses of dry white wine gives you 500 calories. It's probably half of that or less, I guess. The only thing that can give you 500 calories from 2 glasses would probably be full-fat milkshake!

Your meals throughout the day have a very low caloric content! And I know this sounds silly, but what are Twiglets?

It says on the site that Twiglets taste like burnt something and is 89% fat-free, which means it contains 11g fat for every 100grams (3.5 oz).

Yep your food entry for 10th June sounds really good! Well done!

Twiglets are very yummy, they taste like crunch marmite.  Ever had that?  Its nice.  I have decided to change my diet as of tomorrow cos thats when I go food shopping.  I am going to incorporate brown bread instead of snack o jacks and twiglets.  So for breakfast I will have a slice of bread with a slice of lean ham no margarine.  Then again as a snack with ham and cucumber.  I have sit and think about this tonight.  I think that because i ate those snack o jacks for too long they have upset me slightly and I am still feeling bloated in the afternoons.  I drink loads of water though and that has improved the appearance of my skin which is good!!!  I will steel keep with the low fat bio yoghurts and fruit.  I just need to exercise more but I can't seem to motivate myself at the moment.  I HATE EXERCISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I just have to keep thinking of the holiday.

I don't feel like exercising at the moment either... Too hot.

Yes I know what Marmite is, unfortunately I've had bad experience with it.  When I was younger we had a maid at home and she poured half a jar of Marmite into my porridge and I got sick that night. I will never forget the taste of Marmite.

There is a trick if you find out that you don't like wholemeal bread (it's the brown one you're talking about). They happen to be very dry without margarine, but if you want the fibre and all that, you can switch to whitemeal bread. It's still got the wholesome goodness except it's softer and easier to swallow!  Take that from my experience.

Hi

Not been feeling well recently.  I don't know what it is feeling really bloated, I look as if I'm 4 months pregant, God that brings back memories!!!  Stomach hurts aswell, feels like some sort of food posioning but can't think what it could be cos the diet is still the same.  Have started eating brown bread, wholemeal which is really nice.  Have stopped the bio yoghurts cos thats when the problem started, I think.  Also I am not drinking as much water either.  I don't know what I shall be eating today cos the thought of good at the moment is making me feel sick

Maybe you've got an allergic reaction to those bio yoghurts? It could be possible. And I think I'd better leave out whatever I learnt in biology class about microorganisms in our food because it will only make you queasy.

Hope you're feeling better now. Just drink more water and see how it goes.

Hi

Well guess what?  It wasn't a stomach bug, as I didn't have a runny stomach if you know what I mean.  The pain was in my lower abdomin and very tender touch, and after I thought about it it was exactly the same pain I had about 5 months ago when I suffered from an ovarian cyst.  First time ever in my life!  But thankfully it went by itself, otherwise the doctor said I would have to have a laporoscomy, or something like that, to get rid of it.  Thank god it left of its own accord   I'm not having a doctor messing about in there.  They wanted to stick a small camera up there to see how bad it was!!!!!  Hey I said the last time anybody had such a close view was when my son was born and I intend to keep it that way.  The doctor said that I could get it from time to time.  I am feeling a lot better today but still very tender.  I did eat yesterday cos I started to get hungry, so this is what I had:

B:  small weight watchers tuna in tomato & basil sauce and one can of asparagus in water = 132 calories

S: two small pieces of wholemeal ground bread with 2 slices of lean ham and one tomato = 180 calories

L: one small slice of bread with ham and cucumber = 90 calories

D: the same as breakfast = 132 calories

In between I drank lots of water and 3 cups of decaf tea and one can of V8 which is a vegetable drink, very yummy.  Mostly made of tomato but with carrots, celery and spinach = 155 calories (including the tea)

Total calorie intake = 700 cal approx.

NO WINE!!!!!!

No exercise though, obviously.!!!!!
