Hey I just downloaded (i know Im bad) Winsor Pilates and I just dont know how they expect over weight ppl to do this. I tried to do it and there is absolutely no way I can see myself doing it unless I shed like half my body weight. I couldnt even do the modified version they had! You really need to have good ab strenght and no flab in on ya tummy lol.

Anyone else find it hard or is it just moi?

I have a pilates dvd but I havn't done it yet.  I know some of them are harder than others but I think it takes time to get these right.  Why not get pilates for beginners?  Good luck.

Yeah Winsor is a bit harder than other pilates tapes. I only started doing Winsor recently, although it is tough at times, it is also very very good and has benefitted me so much more than the other pilate's tapes I was using. You just have to keep at it and you will get stronger, but like I said I didn't start with Winsor and I think I too woulda found it impossible to do if I had.

Oh, on a different note, where did you download it from, cos I keep looking for places to download fitness stuff from and can't find anywhere lol.

I just ordered Winsor Pilates off Ebay. I got a decent price at least. Well, I will give it a good go. I've been doing Pilates for awhile on and off. I have "Beginner's Mat Workout" from Living Arts. It's tough, but I kept at it. I also got a good beginners tape with the Deluxe Pilates Kit (a mat, video, 3 resistance bands and a wall chart).

OM (dear) G!  My new "Winsor Pilates" tape just arrived!  R U kiddin' me!!!    What Mrs. Mari Winsor, the author, forgot to mention was 1 word on the tape,........"ADVANCED."

uh-huh....I am going BACK to look for a more beginners version!!!! or even an Intermediate version!!  LOL!  I would never propose this version of a tape to Not only an overweight person nor to a slender person who is Out Of Shape!!!  ....One could really hurt themselves.

Do you recommend "Windsor Pilates" for beginners?

Also, I have the "Windsor Pilates Ab Sculpting" version?  Maybe the two are different?  If not, u are way more Advanced than myself!  Good 4 U, and i mean that!!  :)  Me, I'm still trying 2 tighten my "Powerhouse" (abs & back) very carefully!!  LOL!  I do believe in Pilates 100%!  It's great stuff!   i personally am on the market for a more "beginners" version.

i have no idea what level this video is it doesnt say (but i doubt its advanced) its not just ab sculpting..its a 20 min total body workout

i did it twice yesterday..you feel great when you've finished!

i think everyone should start with pilates for beginners ..then work there way up as they gain control and things get easier.

i have been doing the windsor pilates 20 minute workout for like a week now, and i have to say i LOVE it. At first it was really difficult and some of the stuff felt really really silly. But now everything has gotten easier and i can do the workout well, and it just makes me feel great. And my stomach actually feels strong i really do love it.

Hi Binary.

Where did you download it?

I have a two-dvd Windsor Pilates set and somehow the first dvd got a crack in the edge so the layers are seperating. The last half won't play  so I am trying to find another copy.

bearshare not bareshare LOL is the name of the program, but be aware its not legal to use in most countries :D well the progam is legal but sharing files isnt.

but a easy seach on google would haven given you those answers as well, anyway. I used bittorrent to download, but had the problem of not finding enough sources of it, but with bit torrent client (sourceforge.net so please dont PM me)  you get them as real DVD files, not lousy mpgs

Yes Ben!  I stupidly bought Pilates when it first came out about 2 years ago and paid like 90 bucks for 5 DVDs and I probably have tried to do them like 5 times.  They are difficult for a person that is bigger then a super model to do!  hehe or I think so anyways.  The way they contort their bodies seems humanly impossible.  I am going to try again though when I get to a better weight.  I think I'm going to stick with cardio and weights for now.

md - when you feel comfortable doing the pilates it'll be well worth it..
i LOVE pilates!! I never used to be able to sit on the floor with my legs straight out in front of my unbent.. but since doing pilates i can do that!! plus straight after a session i can have my legs out in front of me and bend over and touch my head to my knees!!!!!

if you have a tape or whatever you just need yourself and probably a mat to put on the floor like a yoga mat...

hunny - all you need is a dvd player or vcr. I put a large towel on the floor to make it more comfy.

I haven't done the videos lately, but I love pilates. It makes me feel relaxed, long, lean, and feminine... I guess cause you point your toes like a dancer... lol. I think I may get my video out tonight!

I just bought the beginner set from Windsor Pilates, and did the intro and 20minute full body thing yesterday. Not bad! I had to do the modified version of almost everything, and am pretty sore today - but I can totally see myself doing this regularly!

The only thing I couldn't do at all was the last excersize on the 20minute workout - where you have your hands crossed inside your legs and then tap your feet together, roll back and tap your feet again? I tried once and then just laughed I felt so ridiculous. Heh. Hopefully I'll get it eventually.

I know what you mean...when I first do that... I laugh at myself too...lucky i did it in my room so no one could see..

anyhow... ive been doin pilates for like a month ( winsor series )

1. Advanced body slimming - a month already
2. Bun and thighs sculpting - 2 weeks
3. Ab scuplting - 2 weeks
4. Upper body sculpting - 2 weeks

All 20 mins workout.... I did #2 everyday along with #1, #3,#4 alternately.

I love the result! My legs are defenitely leaner ( love the bun and thighs sculpting ) My waist are getting smaller... and I actually can see my tummy getting toned!

of course the breathing process PLAYS the major role!

I Love pilates...especially by winsor.

I've been doing Pilates for a few weeks now, and have done it consistently for four days now...the first couple of weeks I only did it about every other day (if that...). I can really tell a difference already! My legs feel stronger, and I'm doing fewer and fewer of the modified versions. What a great feeling!

I haven't been watching inches, but I wouldn't be surprised if my thighs have gotten smaller...more muscle and less fat!

I have the winsor pilates and love it!! Yeah, it is hard to do when overweight, but each time I do it, it gets easier! I personally LOVE winsor pilates, I saw results on it before when i had borrowed my friends tapes over a year ago, but now that I got my own a week ago, I really enjoy it even more, even though i am heavier than at that time.

I've had the Windsor Pilates DVD set for over a year and throughout the year I've only done them on and off, so of course I didn't see any results. For the past two weeks though I've been doing them every day in conjunction with a low GI diet, and although I haven't lost any weight from it WOW my body is so much tighter! I do the Abs Sculpting workout every other day, and on the days when I don't work on my abs I do either Bun & Thigh or Upper Body. I love the way my butt looks now! It used to be flat before.

Even though Pilates doesn't make me lose fat, my core muscles are now so much stronger that I actually want to move around more, and that'll help me lose weight.

I've just started the abs and thighs & butt power sculpting.  I think I've only done one of the winsor pilates sessions, but as soon as I got the dvds in the mail this week I thought fantastic.  I am overweight and did find I could not do a few of the exercises, I couldn't sit up from a laying down position at all.  I decided to modify for me, instead of starting laying down, I start in the sitting up position and lower myself down but not all the way.  I then raise myself back to sitting.  One day I'll be able to do the proper way but I figure this is helping my powerhouse get it's strength.

So far today I did 2 sessions of abs, one basic power sculpting and 1 thighs & butt.  I really want to see some results.  Just to get into smaller pants would be heaven.

That's the way to go....just keep doing as much as you can and in a month or two you'll be doing the same thing as the people on the screen. When I did the Ab Sculpting Workout for the first time I thought I'd never be able to do Teasers 2 and 3 with my legs straight but after about a month of doing the workout every day, it happened!

I just purchased winsor pilates for abs sculpting. I have used belly dancing workouts however I was never consistant with that. I also used the firm workouts and saw results, only my dvd was stolen from me. I decided to try out pilates now but im not sure if i can use just pilates. Should i purchase my firm dvd again and use it with my new pilates video? Also, i usually work out in the morning, and right before i cook dinner. When is the best time to workout?
