Lose 20lbs And Save A Ton of Money Using Meal Subscription Promotions

My daughter says I should have called this the Millennial diet, since most millennials don’t know how to cook. I had to remind her that millennial's also don’t have money.

All joking aside, I want to put this out there for anyone who is considering trying to lose 20 to 30 pounds or so, but the mere thought of all the meal planning, shopping, weighing or planning out carbs or calories is just plain exhausting.

This was when I discovered those meal delivery services, like HelloFresh and Marleyspoon. The meals looked so delish and I couldn’t wait to try them!

Then I saw the prices!

I suppose if you are used to shopping for brand names and eating filet mignon every night these prices seems reasonable, but they were more than I was willing to part with!

Then I found it!

$5 Meal Boxes! How did I do it? Let me tell you.

First, I looked to see which companies would offer one time or easy out subscriptions. I didn’t even look at any company that demanded you sign up for a minimum or 30 days or any contract.

As I was looking through the different sites, I noticed that a lot of them offered discounts for new customers.

So I signed up for one company and got a $30 discount off my first week! I put that subscription on hold and signed up with another company, who offered me 50 percent off my first box! Doing this not only saved me money, but it allowed me to try out several different companies. This way, I could decide which company had the best meals or service.

You might want to check out the following companies who are offering discounts right now:

  • Blue Apron: $30 off your first box
  • Plated: 50% off your first box
  • HelloFresh: $30 off your first box and $20 off the second box
  • Purple Carrot: $25 off your first box
  • Green Chef: $50 off your first box
  • Marley Spoon: $10 off each box, up to 3 boxes (so $30 off a 3 box purchase)

The problem was that they didn't always offer low carb meals.

My Solution

I wanted to go low carb, but sometimes these companies didn't offer a truly low carb meal. How did I stick to my diet?

Sometimes, I simply cut the carbs in half. For example, if the dish came with rice, I would eat half that night and take half the next day for lunch. Or if there was a potato, I would give it to the dog and add frozen veggies or a salad. I don’t like to waste food, so I really tried not to do that, but it did happen once.

I drop 20 pounds in about 4 weeks. I did no planning, no measuring, and no counting! There was such a minimal amount of cooking that I didn’t even feel annoyed!

Staying on a diet with minimal cooking and no hassle?! Better still, the food is delivered to your home or office! As my millennial daughter would say”Game Changer!”
